Yonkers International Press: The Book is Someone to Touch

Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Gallery, Sheila C. Johnson Design Center 2 West 13th Street New York, NY 10011

Explore movement and dance techniques while reflecting on the ways in which the body comes into contact with material archives and books.

This event is part of In the Historical Present, an exhibition in the Anna-Maria & Stephen Kellen Gallery featuring commissioned artworks, artist-led engagements and performances, and works drawn from the New School's art collection and archives in celebration of the university’s Centennial.

Benjamin Van Buren is a graduate of Lang’s Arts In Context program with a focus on dance and philosophy, as well as an alumnus from The New School for Social Research with an MA in Liberal Studies. He founded Yonkers International Press (YIP) as an experimental publishing house that archives and re-disseminates materials collected at live performances and dance festivals.
